Events
Meetings
ORBIS doctoral candidates (DCs) will participate in the yearly consortium meetings. The first of these will allow the freshly recruited doctoral candidates to get to know each other and ORBIS principal investigators.
At the following meetings, each DC will present their progress on their research project to the consortium.

Focus Topic Workshops
ORBIS will organize 5 Focus Topic Workshops (FTW) with lectures and seminars in key topics related to Orbitronics. The core of each FTW will be made up of lectures given by ORBIS’s key scientific staff. Visiting scientists will give complementary lectures. Each FTW will be locally organized by a different beneficiary organization, and will have a duration of 1.5 days.

Transferable Skills Workshops
The ORBIS consortium considers training in transferable skills to be of primary importance to improve its DCs’ employability and will devote a significant effort to provide comprehensive training in topics that are complementary to the scientific and technological training acquired through the DCs’ research at the host and secondment institutions.
ORBIS will organize 5 Transferable Skills Workshops (TSW) that will be organized back-to-back with the FTW in order to save time and resources. Each TSW will have a duration of 1.5 days and will be composed of both theoretical and practical approaches. The content and methodology of each TSW has been defined by our expert partner, Skills 4 Science, who will deliver the training in collaboration with other ORBIS beneficiaries and associated partners.

Scientific Conferences
ORBIS DCs will present their research at least two international conferences over the course of the project.
They are also expected to attend one edition of the European School on Magnetism (ESM), a yearly event organized by the European Magnetism Association (EMA). The mission of the ESM is to provide a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of magnetism and consists of a 10-day training course combining lectures and various training activities, such as hands-on practicals, Q&A sessions and posters. The event also promotes networking and can help create effective links between academia and the industry.
At the end of the project, DCs will take part in the ORBIS Final Conference, an event open to researchers outside the consortium which aims to disseminate project results.
